Mr Peter Tabichi, the award winner of the Sh100 million Global Teacher Prize in 2019 is a mathematics and physics teacher in Nakuru. On Monday he was recognized at the 2020 Ahimsa Award by the Trustees of the Institute of Jainology in London. The Institute of Jainology (IOJ) consists of 32 UK-based Jain Organisations in government and inter-religious affairs declared a champion last month when the Ahimsa Day meeting was held but this was made public on Monday.
The award is for his contribution to helping the needy student in schools.We look forward to seeing his ongoing success as well as being a beacon for teachers and community leaders everywhere,” said IOJ Managing Trustee Dr. Mehool Sanghrajka.IOJ said that he was handed the award due to how he supports and improves attendance in his school . In addition to that his engagement in community voluntary tasks that help deal with famine in Nakuru. Mr. Tabichi is so grateful for IOJ for believing in him and promised to always do better.
